Why there are blue and red marbles?

Hello Turing Tumble Community,

I’ve been reading the educator’s guide to better understand the game, and it mentions that the marbles represent electricity. However, I’m struggling to understand why there are two separate inputs for electricity, one for blue marbles and one for red marbles. Could someone please explain this?

Thank you!

I think it is so that different parts of the system can work independently a lot easier Like this. And this which uses them to output the binary also don’t forget many puzzles in the book require you to create patterns.
