If you don’t have any part in the lower center,
or even sometimes with a Cross in the lower center,
The ball can jump from one side to the other.
I think that another design of this detail could let the Blue Bit work there without letting other jump so easlily.

I had the same concern. The fixes above work, but a small wall added in the middle, small enough that it wouldn’t interfere with the movement of a part, could work. Although the blue piece might still hit it.
Well, if you’re redesigning the board, move the entire bottom section - ramps, bottom gates, and central divider - all down a little. Then you could put in a small central wall that would prevent high-speed balls from ‘leaking’ over from one side to the other.
