Collecting the hints from solutions by other people here, you may easily reduce the number of parts needed from 27 to 24:
- Shift the diagonal of steering bits one step down and to the left: saves two ramps (replacing three, one needed on top).
- You may remove the rightmost and lowest ramp by turning the one that is above and left of it to the left.
