Puzzle 40 is essentially the problem of creating a 4 times table, storing the results in the central register. After solving it (my solution below is slightly different than the booklet solution), I also was able to come up with n times tables for n = 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 ,11 and 12. These will be given in separate posts.
