Start the machine using the red lever. This dumps the five red balls from the right side, followed by dumping the entire left side, and finally finishing up with the remaining three blue balls on the right side.
If you set the left register to 2 and the right register to 0, you can start using the blue lever. This dumps three balls from the left, then all the balls from the right, then the reminder from the left.
In either case, all bits end up in their starting positions, so the user does not have to reset any parts manually between runs.
